Clients typically have the bulk of their assets in no-load mutual funds and to a lesser extent, individual stocks and bonds. For commodities like oil, gold, or agricultural commodities I typically use ETFs.
I also manage investments in outside accounts like a client’s 401k or 403b plan at work or 529 Plan. For certain qualified clients public limited partnerships, energy working interests or a managed futures account may be appropriate.
